Social Security Number Trace
This background investigation service verifies the validity of the Social Security Number provided by the applicant and provides an address history based on public record and credit header information. This enables us to find areas where an applicant has resided that they may not have reported on their consent form or online entry.
Federal District Criminal History Search
This is a background screening check of all 94 Federal District Courts for criminal history information, including felonies and misdemeanors. Federal crimes may not be located at the state or county level, so we always recommend including this background check service in your package.
OFAC
A search of The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) contains the names of foreign nationals whom the United States government currently has sanctions against. Persons on this list include known terrorists and narcotic traffickers.
State/County Criminal History Search
Core to any good background screening check is a search of records for the state or county in which the applicant has resided for criminal history information involving felony or misdemeanor charges. The statewide search is used by PSI in areas where the search is considered reputable and provides a thorough search of the area in addition to a reasonable turnaround time for processing. In areas where a Statewide search is unavailable or not reputable, a County Criminal History search is used in its place.
National Criminal Super Search
The National Criminal Super Search is an online repository search that hits approximately 350-400 million records including sanction searches, INTERPOL Most Wanted, FBI Most Wanted, and various other electronic repositories including some county court records. This is a great search to use to add breadth to your criminal background screening check, but it should never be used as a standalone search.
